I call these my foundlings:
![]() 01/29/2020 at 11:40 |

It’s already getting disorganized (5 minutes after posting the pictures)
[that's how it feels like it would go for me at least..]
![]() 01/29/2020 at 11:41 |
|
So that's the noise I'm hearing in my garage right now...
![]() 01/29/2020 at 11:45 |

2 hours
![]() 01/29/2020 at 11:47 |

Thats optimistic. I'm locking it up and running some errands to hedge my bets.
![]() 01/29/2020 at 11:51 |

plot twist- you already messed it up between taking the photos and posting them here.
![]() 01/29/2020 at 11:52 |

When do you plan on touching it next? Until then

Get yourself some socket pegs ASAP.
Beyond that your organization looks pretty similar to mine, themed drawers. There’s a drawer for screwdrivers, wrenches, pinchy things, cutty things, etc. Not having to dig for a specific screw driver that I just used but is somehow underneath 37 other screwdrivers would be nice, but other than that this organization method works well.

those sockets arent even secured in place, the motion of opening and closing the drawers was enough to shuffle them all around already.

I believe it’s inversely proportional to the product of number of users and frequency of use.
t=c/(f u)
![]() 01/29/2020 at 12:01 |
|
About 3:50.
![]() 01/29/2020 at 12:05 |
|
You should rearrange that equation.
(1/fu)*c=t
QED.
![]() 01/29/2020 at 12:06 |
|
It don't matter none, you've already lost a 10mm socket.
![]() 01/29/2020 at 12:07 |

eurgh...this is just making me realize i really dont want to go back to work tomorow
i like my job...i do...but i know i had everything neatly organized when i left friday
theres no way in hell ill be able to find anything after 3 days of letting the other techs run wild without me threathening to cane them if they dont return tools
![]() 01/29/2020 at 12:09 |

Proper tool storage is in a half circle on the floor near whatever one is attempting.
![]() 01/29/2020 at 12:15 |

It’ll last un til the end of this sentence.
![]() 01/29/2020 at 12:20 |
|
foundlings?
This I s the Way.
![]() 01/29/2020 at 12:23 |
|
If you're anything like me it'll stay organized until the start of your first project...
![]() 01/29/2020 at 12:25 |
|
You need drawers for the drawers !
![]() 01/29/2020 at 12:30 |
|
They are the bomb. Easy to carry, and easy to visually see if one has gone missing when you’re cleaning up.
![]() 01/29/2020 at 13:00 |
|
I think I have the same kobalt socket set but still have mine in the carrying block thing
![]() 01/29/2020 at 13:05 |
|
If you’re anything like me, immediately after this picture was taken.
![]() 01/29/2020 at 13:15 |

The sockets in the blow molded cases will probably be okay, but those screwdrivers? They are already out of place by now.
![]() 01/29/2020 at 13:35 |
|
Ugh, this just makes me want to buy the white one to go with this.
The us general boxes are so nice.
![]() 01/29/2020 at 14:01 |
|
I was looking at that same box too. I love the woodtop workspace concept but I'm afraid it would become a collecting space
![]() 01/29/2020 at 14:01 |
|
Ive already lost a few 10mm sockets
![]() 01/29/2020 at 14:02 |
|
This is the way.
![]() 01/29/2020 at 15:18 |
|
Yeah, it is my work top surface now and I have to work to keep it clean workout piling shit on top of it. The depth is very nice and the beauty of it really does make me try extra hard to keep it clean.
![]() 01/29/2020 at 19:02 |
|
After getting a toolbox that was large enough to hold all my tools, i usually take an extra few minutes to put everything back where it goes because everything has a proper place now.
![]() 01/29/2020 at 19:04 |
|
Thats not a socket collection, this is a socket collection
![]() 01/30/2020 at 03:42 |

end of the day
